Jin shin for support during Cancer treatments

I can honestly say that I don’t know how I would have gotten through the last several months without Jane’s knowledge and practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu to support both my body and my mind.

After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer, I was looking for an alternative practice to use in conjunction with the western medicine recommendations. I wanted something that could support my physical healing before and after surgery as well as ease the emotional stress of the diagnosis and the many changes that it brings to my life.

A friend referred me to the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu, and I am grateful to have found Jane. She is warm, caring, professional, and communicates easily. I felt comfortable immediately.

I”m usually a very active person, working out several times a week and I would often get massages to help relieve the muscle tension. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to work out or get massages for some time while recovering. This was concerning to me, but I have found that after a session of Jin Shin Jyutsu, I am totally relaxed.
It’s an inner relaxation, deeper and longer lasting than if I had gone for a massage. There is also a mental clarity, and peace that stays with me for days at a time. The anxiety and stress are just gone.
I feel that my body has healed quickly with the Jin Shin treatments and I have had a more positive outlook on life. It’s been a blessing for me and I will continue to have session with Jane as the treatments continue.

Thought I had tried everything

Jane is a true professional! I suffer from allergies in spring and always have. I feel that I have tried everything and the only thing that seems to give me some relief is Benadryl but feel drowsy for hours. This year in particular is one of the worst years ever for allergies and I was entering a business meeting last week with some heavy symptoms; congestion, sinus pressure, itchy nose / face, etc. Jane, knowing I had bad allergies told me to sit down and performed Jin Shin Jyutsu on my back, shoulders and arms for a few min before the meeting started. Sure enough! 2 – 3 min later I was clear headed, no sniffles and little to no itchiness! FOR THE REST OF THE DAY! I have never had that happen before in my life and know I will be seeing Jane more for her help. If you have never tried Jin Shin Jyutsu before you must see Jane for a season.

Bart is a medium large 14+ year old dog and is suffering from both arthritis, neurological/spinal and heart problems. He so looks forward to his weekly Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions with Jane. After a few sessions, he walks in and lies right down for his relaxation. And you can see him relax and perk up right before your eyes! By the time our session is over, Bart is walking better and looks refreshed. Bart is on several medications but nothing seems to help as much as the Jin Shin. It has been 8 days since my session with Jane. My main complaint when I scheduled my appointment was low energy. During the session a number of other issues presented themselves; insomnia, chronic arthritic pain, spinal curvature and tension from worry, to name a few. I am a professional body worker myself and I think I’m pretty aware of my body. As soon as Jane placed her hands on my body things began to happen. I became aware of tight muscles as they released beneath the subtlest but deftly placed touch. I became more and more relaxed as the session proceeded and I began to feel uplifted, peaceful and very grateful.

The session went by like a flash, and as I left Jane’s office and walked to my car, I noticed my stride and gate were smooth, flowing and effortless; impressive given that I just had a total knee replacement last October and that my walking had also become affected by pretty pronounced curvature of the spine. 🙂

These last 8 days have been extraordinary. So many things keep coming more clearly into focus. For one thing I’m getting some sleep! And my energy level is well above where it’s been.

Maybe the biggest thing so far is that I am feeling the possibility of continued healing in areas that I had really become very resigned about. Oh, and yes my friends are commenting how great I look.I can’t wait to schedule my next session.

I have to say, I’m not one to go for the hippy dippy holistic stuff. I’m very skeptical of such things. BUT I knew Jane and trusted her. So I wasn’t quite sure how she was going to help me. My shoulder had been hurting. My Dr. said he didn’t think it was torn, so I asked Jane if Jin Shin would work. She said she thought it would. Well it’s funny because often she is touching so lightly you wonder if it’s helping, but I can tell you that after my two sessions, my shoulder feels so much better.
Each time it was weird, I got up feeling energized in my mind, but so calm in my body I felt like I’d just had an incredibly relaxing massage. My shoulder felt so much better too. I’m now a believer in JinShinJyutsu. I highly recommend Jane!!

How do I know that Jane’s jin shin treatments work for me?
I hadn’t seen her in several years but when a persistant pain in my right leg wouldn’t go away, I set up an appointment. When I arrived for and checked in with her, I remembered that I also had been suffering from unusual fatigue for several months even though I had taken a break from work. The treatment time was enriching. I enjoyed first a brief chat and then fell into a quiet relaxation.

I write this on the next morning, knowing it will take at least a couple of good walks and perhaps a week or so to know if my discomfort and fatigue are totally gone. Jane told me my body will continue to process the treatment over a 24-hour period. Five more hours to go. And if I practice her self-help suggestions, I bet progress will continue beyond that. Based on my first observations, it seems the treatment was exactly what I needed.

Here are my first observations.
• I felt lighter as I walked down the stairs from her office building.
• I got into my car and when I turned to check traffic I was surprised to notice that my spine glided further than normal.
• I felt happier and lighter the rest of the day and stayed up to watch a movie.
• I noticed that my toes (part of where the leg pain lodged) were much more supple.
• The next morning, I awoke feeling much more rested and much more awake than I’ve felt for some time.
• I feel focused today and ready to get back to work.
• I notice my posture is balanced.
• I weigh exactly the same as I did yesterday and that’s a disappointment. But, truly, I feel lighter.
