About Jane Pritchard
For most of my life I have been curious about health and well-being. Early on I started seeing that the answers that medical science provided rarely took into account many of the things I felt were important to health, like what we eat and the quality of food we eat and how stressed we lived our lives. So I worked in the health foods industry for many years looking to improve people’s overall health. During that time I also started investigating and taking classes in various alternative health care modalities.
It wasn’t until I started having chronic sinus infections and then a very painful back issue that I went searching in earnest for something that would restore my body to my once healthy and pain-free state.
I tried many things; the conventional medical/pharmaceutical route, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic and many alternative therapies. Some would help for a short time but none eliminated the problem.
Never willing to think that this could become a permanent condition, I kept looking. One day I was receiving massage from a woman who had taken a course in Jin Shin Jyutsu as well. When she applied the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, I could feel something very different happening in my body. She showed me some Jin Shin Jyutsu I could do on myself at home and it worked! The pain in my back subsided, the sinuses started healing and strengthening! I was shown things to do for my daughter’s headaches and they worked! Surprisingly, the painful arthritis in my wrists that had been medically diagnosed in my 20’s just completely disappeared and never to this day has returned.
Not only was I astonished that I could become well simply by using my hands on myself, but I had found a home. It was what I had been looking for, a way to help myself and others that was simple, effective, without harse chemicals or other tools that damaged the planet (or our bodies) and that people could do for themselves if they so chose.
I received my basic training and certification from Jin Shin Jyutsu, Inc. and received my advanced training with the Jin Shin Institute. I have been a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and teacher since 1988 and have taught self-help classes internationally, at the university level and on radio and television. It has been an amazing journey to see myself and others recover from so many issues that they were told we would never recover from. One of my greatest joys is to support people in this way and I continue to be committed to empowering others in their quest for optimal health and well-being.
